Tax Deduction for Donation

World Vision Hong Kong is a tax-exempt charity of the HKSAR Government. According to current tax regulations, with the receipt of accumulated charitable donations amounting to HK$100 or above annually, donors can apply for tax deduction in Hong Kong. To encourage charitable donations from the public, the HKSAR Government offers a tax exemption of up to 35% of assessable income or profits from approved charitable donations. Receipts are issued for all donations for the purpose of tax deduction.

Food Pack ($140)

Provide food packs for 1 local grassroots family

Having a balanced nutritional intake is essential to children’s growth. You can provide packs of assorted nutritious food for local grassroots families, allowing children to improve their nutritional status.

Food Assistance ($1,000)

Provide emergency food assistance for 50 people (in partnership with the World Food Programme)

Some places in the world are experiencing instability due to persistent conflict and natural disasters. With development pretty much stalled, the locals are unable to respond to disasters on their own. In such places, we are partnering with the World Food Programme (WFP) providing emergency food assistance to help the affected ones meet their urgent needs.

Medical Equipment ($15,000)

Support the acquisitions of medical equipment

Comprehensive medical equipment and facilities are crucial to the smooth operation of a health system, and can provide proper and timely treatment for the recovery of patients in impoverished communities.

To ensure that every cent is well accounted for, we continue to keep costs at the minimum. During the Financial Year of 2023, 8.2% of our total income was spent on administration and fundraising, and 1.8% was used for public education, while 90% was allocated to global relief and community development programmes, and respective reserves.

Our regular donors will receive an annual donation receipt from World Vision Hong Kong by the end of April each year. The annual receipt will list out the total donations in the past financial year for tax deduction. For the ease of reference and to help protect our environment, you may choose to go paperless by receiving an e-receipt via email. Please register by 31 March, allowing us to process your tax deductible donation and ensure you receive your receipt in time.
